Where Dreams Grow on Vines

Explore our Vineyard

Cradled in the Bekaa valley at an altitude of 1000m, our vineyards offer the best premium wine associated with a minimal vineyard manipulation and intervention coupled with distinctive natural attributes.

Most of our vineyards grow on slopes that help trap the sun, and offer good drainage. Nearly all our vineyards are orientated around eight degrees toward the east. This will allow the grapes to catch the early morning sun to warm the plants after a cool or dewy night. Our  vineyards have an homogenous soil texture and structure.

The dominant type is granular clay calcareous soil with a pH around 8.2. Some other soils are pebbly, sandy-clay with considerable organic matter. Its morphology belongs to the order of Aridisols with Psamments that are  pedogenic horizons, usually dry in all horizons and are never moist  throughout 90 consecutive days when temperature is suitable for plant growth.

The climate governs the three crucial variables of temperature ,water and  wind that are necessary for the vines. All three are essential in moderation. The region is semi-arid  Mediterranean climate  with a moderately long dry period. The annual precipitation rate does not exceed 650 mm/year distributed mainly during December to March and rarely in April.  This short period followed by the dry season reduces leaching of basic cations, retards mineral weathering, and allows accumulation of soluble salts.

In general the weather conditions affect the soil morphology where our vineyards are grown, and in turn enhances the quality of our wine. The location of the vineyards at the bottom of Barouk Mountain is susceptible to wind. The turbulence in the atmosphere above the Mediterranean generates winds that funnel down the Western Bekaa Valley almost all the year. This affects the pruning of our vineyards, which are cut low to help them withstand the onslaught of the wind.

Our Resource Vineyards that supply grapes to our winery cover an area of 50 hectares. The introduction of new varieties of grapevines is still in progress and is done extensively in our vineyards.
