We made our Merlot 2011 from beautifully ripe Merlot grapes; aged in medium toast French oak for 5 years. It has a deep ruby color with garnet hues. The nose is enticing with aromas of truffles, prunes, dried blueberries, chocolate and liquorice. It is a full-bodied and balanced wine with lingering flavors of cloves and wood, enhanced by smooth tannins and a long finish. Best accompanied with various caramelized, roasted vegetables or pot roast.
